SAT prep
TestMagic teachers are both smart and experienced in coaching for the SAT. We've all taken the SAT and aced it with 800s in the sections we teach, and, as if that weren't enough, we're good teachers, too. TestMagic teachers have a wide variety of backgrounds, but all of us hold at least a Bachelor's degree, and most of us have or are pursuing a Master's degree or Ph. D. Many of our teachers have taught at the university level, including teaching at U.C. Berkeley, Stanford, City College of San Francisco, and more.
We work hard to make sure that TestMagic students reach their full potential. We helped lots of people reach goals they never thought they could.
Why TestMagic SAT prep?
Of course we will show you what you will need to know to raise your SAT score. But we will do so in a way that you can understand and remember. We will treat you like the real person you are. TestMagic teachers have a passion for teaching and are excited to share their knowledge with you. You will call your teachers by their first names, and they will listen to what you say. You are welcome to drop by or call just to chat or to ask a question about the SATs, your college applications, what classes to take at school, extracurriculars, or anything about the college application process.
Second, we have great materials. TestMagic has experience teaching a wide variety of standardized tests, from the tests middle school students need to take (such as the SSAT and ISEE) to the tests college graduates need to take to apply to graduate school (such as the GMAT and GRE). Because we have such wide experience with many tests targeted at different levels, we have access to a wide range of materials, including materials we have custom-written for our students.
Third, we know our students well, and we know what they need. We have coached thousands of students from all over the Bay Area, and you may even know somebody who has studied with us.
Finally, you may even enjoy studying with TestMagic. We have heard many times from our students that TestMagic classes were interesting and sometimes even fun.
TestMagic SAT prep class
We have a two different kinds of SAT classes, depending on your needs. If you are interested in one-to-one SAT classes, see our information on private SAT tutoring.
Long-term
Our on-going, long-term classes are for 5th grade and up. These students want a high score and know that the best way to prepare is over time, not by cramming it in at the last minute.
We cover both the verbal and math sections in the class, but we spend more time on the verbal than the math since the new SAT tests verbal skills so heavily.
"Start-to-finish SAT"
These classes are for people who are going to take the test in the next few months. You will get an introduction to the test, learn the strategies that will help you raise your score, and practice the hard questions.
Admisssions consulting
TestMagic provides informal, free advice to its students based on our experience with the thousands of students we've worked with in the past. Of course we have the most experience with high school students applying to the U.C. system, but we have also helped a number of students successfully apply to such top schools as Harvard and Stanford. We can tell you what the different schools are looking for and what you will need to do to improve your chances of getting in. We can also help you with your college admissions essays and make sure that they are the best they can be.
