Participles
Like other verbals, participles are words that are derived from verbs.
There are two types of participles: present participles and past participles.
Present participles are the "-ing form of the verb." These are examples of present participles: running, talking, buying, wondering, loving, determining.
Past participles are what we call the "-ed form of the verb," even though not all past participles end in -ed. Here are some examples of past participles: talked. wondered, loved, determined, run, bought.
